Were there many Jews and Germans married before Hitler came to power? How about during?
Long story short, this was a delaying factor for many Jews, but it would not save them from deportation to the camps and eventual murder. For some, however, the delaying action was enough to eek it out. A famous example of such a person is Victor Klemperer, a professor of linguistics at the University of Dresden. He was Jewish, his wife was Christian, so-called "Aryan". He kept a diary during the war that academics love because, well, he wrote about academic sorts of things, like how language is manipulated. I'm getting off course, but he was actually scheduled to be deported in Feb. 1945, but he was able to use the confusion of the bombing from 13-15 Feb. to fall in with a refugee collumn and escape to Bavaria (which was already under the control of the US army).
Another interesting story that you might look into is the Rosenstrasse Protest. It's one of the few times when Germans actually took to the streets to protest the treatment of Jews. In this case, it was Christian, so-called "Aryan" women who protested the arrest of their Jewish husbands. The protest worked and the men were released. Nathan Stoltzfus has a book on it that I can recommend.
