Need help identifying anything from my late grandfather's Navy blues.

I know this is a tough one as almost all of it is impossible to see, but I'm not even sure what the large symbols on the sleeve are (very new to this.)

I do know this was taken in 1946 and that he was a gunner in a bomber squadron at some point during the war. He was also an airplane mechanic. Thanks for any help!

EDIT: I have identified the sleeve symbols. The large standard eagle has the symbol beneath it for Aviation Machinist's Mate. Below that there are three chevrons. It's difficult to tell if there's a top curved chevron, but based on what I'm seeing he was an Aviation Machinist's Mate First Class.

EDIT 2: I have just learned that due to the position on his sleeve, it indicates he was a Petty Officer. Along with the chevrons that gives me Petty Officer First Class, along with his specialty. Still stumped on the wings he's wearing on his chest.

EDIT 3: Alright, now that I've studied the lingo, he was, at the time of the photo, AMM1c (Aviation Machinist's Mate 1st Class, paygrade 2)
