During the Korean War, MacArthur sent a letter to the Speaker of the House stating that "if we lose the war to communism in Asia the fall of Europe is inevitable, win it and Europe most probably would avoid war and yet preserve freedom." Is there any valid basis for MacArthur's claims?

I am asking whether or not the outcome Korean War was actually relevant to the fate of Europe, and if so, how. I am under the impression that European nations, for one, did not share MacArthur's enthusiasm.

It is propaganda. Europe was still ravished by that point and had bigger problems at home than care about an unimportant sphere of influence battle in an ex-colony.
