Non-fiction history of plague doctors and/or medical history

by sprinklesvondoom

I tried searching for this, but I couldn't find anything so I apologize if this is a repeat question.

I'm looking for books about plague doctors. Mostly interested in stuff about the bubonic plague. But I understand if that's too narrow a field so if there also exists a book about medical history that touches on that specific era that would also be great. Thanks!

The Great Mortality - John Kelly

Plagues and Peoples - W. McNeill

Cultures of Plague - S. Cohn

Plague Ports - Echenberg

And just google Joseph P. Byrne for his many works on the subject.

I'm not sure this works but if your interesting in the bubonic plague a great place to start is Procopius' history whose later sections include an incredible first hand account of the plague
