Year 12 student here, I'm currently studying the American revolution at my high school. I'd like to know what I could read for a better understanding of the revolution and the events leading up to it.
Depending on what you're looking for, you might check out America's Revolution, by Patrick Griffin, or A Revolutionary People at War by Charles Royster. The latter is a bit dense, but very good, so it might need to wait until your next break. The Minutemen and Their World by Robert Gross is a more focused look at Concord, Massachusetts, using what were at the time relatively new historiographical techniques. These are just some things that were on the upper level syllabi at my undergrad, so enjoy! (Also, do a search here on Reddit for historical booklists--you can usually find just about every topic represented.)
Hello!
Whilst there's always room for more suggestions, don't forget to check the r/AskHistorians book list for ideas. There are plenty of books covering various aspects of events with recommendations to help you find what you're looking for.
