One of my relatives (by marriage) died in France in 1944. So far I don't know exactly where, but I have a suspicion. In the image, does any of the information indicate place or battle of death? I can post more information if this document is helpful at all.
If you know the unit he was a part of, and the date, it shouldn't be too difficult to infer.
Like the other user said. Unit and time of death would give you a very likely place.
