I am trying to get into researching my family tree, but have limited info as I'm not close with my fathers side.

Is anyone able to identify what military branch he was in? Or any other useful info from this pic?
I have his name and birth date if that helps anything.
Hat badge & uniform looks RAF (Royal Air Force), UK or Canadian. Possibly RAAF (Australia)? Hope this helps.
The cap badge is almost certainly from the Royal Canadian Air Force, post 1953 (it has the queen's crown on it, as opposed to the king's).
I don't think there's much else that can be said from this picture.
