My grandfather who passed away before I was born lived near Munich during world war 2. He later immigrated to the states.
Before he passed he gave my mother some pictures of his father (my great grandfather) and himself( my grandfather). Some of these pictures have writing on the back but unfortunately I'm not fluent in German. I have been desperately trying to learn more about my family but my mom doesn't know much and this is all I have.
Thanks for any help identifying his rank( he was in the Wehrmacht and maybe translating anything. It means a lot to me and my family.
