According to my textbook, warship tonnage went from 650 000 in 1880 to 679 in 1890. This seems odd due to a general trend of increasing navies in the rest of Europe at the time. Furthermore, the British navy increased to 1 065 000 tonnes in 1900 t *Edit: The book is "20th Century World History Course Companion" for the IB diploma programme. *Edit: It seems that my source has a typo/is wrong.
