To be clear, in order to make a comparison between current events and historical ones, the current events must first be assessed and contextualized, which historians have not yet had time to do. If there are certain aspects of Russian actions in the Ukraine you can provide yourself as examples ('are there examples where x happened') that could help. But this question is also open-ended in both time and space, making it a "throughout history" question, which is also against sub rules. So do consider whether you are specifically curious about a particular region/country/culture and time period.
