Why did the Japanese government deny aid from China in the Russo-Japanese war?

Would Chinese aid make Japan seem less Western? Or was it just ethnic bias?

Hello, can you post where you heard the info? Because Qing immediately declared themselves neutral 2 days after the declaration of war. (02/12/1904, incidentally 101 years ago)

And on top of that they actually had an secret agreement with Imperial Russia before hand to help out as well. That didn't happen due to Anglo-Japanese Alliance.
