My history teacher was showing all these abandoned monasteries and I didn't get a chance to ask him about them. I am really curious about all of them. I thought maybe the churches would have just been recycled over. Google search didn't seem to come up with anything for me.
Henry VIII sold them off. Not all were abandoned; some are the basis of current stately homes.
