Why is the "American Dream" something so known around the world? Why not a British, Canadian, or Australian dream?

After all, those countries have similar values, cultures, and economic opportunities as the US.

It's really just an American phrase, not a worldwide one. It might be recognised in Britain from American films or TV, but it's not something you would expect a Briton to use in speech. Given that, I'm not sure what sort of answer you are looking for.
