Hi there,
I'm going to be giving a presentation on the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict for a University course. History has always been a big area of interest for me, though I can't say I know an awful lot about this particular area of history aside from what I've picked up from the news (which is rarely an unbiased source!)
The required length of the presentation is quite short, so I need to essentially summarise. Wikipedia will probably be helpful to a degree for this purpose, but I would appreciate some outside insight, too. Are there any good websites or eBooks worth checking out? Does anyone here have anything useful to share? I'd definitely appreciate it. Google will be my friend, as always, but I know folks around here love to talk about history, as do I, so I figured this should be my first stop!
Two conflicting narratives you can skim that are short and simplified:
A Brief History of Israel by Bernard Reich
The Palestine-Israel Conflict: A Basic Introduction by Harms and Ferry.
They are coming from opposite sides of the spectrum, both books are 300 pages or so (maybe less), and you can easily skim and pull what you'd need for conflicting narrative analysis.
I encourage you to check the FAQ, too!
