κακός is what you're looking for, but it basically has the "meaning" of "bad" or "not good." Evil is one possible translation, but it could also be translated to "mean" or "ugly" or "sorry" (He's one sorry football player). It could also translate to "cowardly" or "base" (as opposed to noble).
