Alamo Letter

I've recently seen this image circulating alleging to be a letter from William Travis at the Alamo:

Problem is, it looks real; very real. Except typewriters weren't invented for another 30 years.

Besides making the actual letter easier to read (as I would assume Travis, like most at the time would have cursive writing somewhat difficult to read) is there a reason in attempting to make the letter look legitimate? Am I missing something?

The letter is very real, but what you're looking at is a photograph of a book (or possibly a notice printed up by the Texan government) which includes a copy of the letter.
