I think you misinterpreted him. I'm not claiming that no US soldiers deserted while on active duty in Vietnam, but the vast majority of soldiers that went AWOL in your figure would have been in the United States. Those deserters still have a Federal arrest warrant on them, as discussed in the other thread.
