This is a highly political question, verging on soapboxing, and as such has very little to do with history. If you have specific questions about the war on drugs and the historical frameworks used to understand it, you are free to rephrase and create a specific question in another post.

It's not an actual war though just a name for a policy of strict drug policing. Deaths due to policing actions would be a better place to find or place those statistics.

Also that page says for military deaths which is very different from civilian police.

The War on Drugs isn't an actual war involving operations directed at a political state (or entity with political motives) as much as a series of policies for domestic drug policing which occasionally have included foreign entities (namely, targeting cartels).

Thus it isn't considered a war like the War on Terror, which to be fair is poorly named, but is indeed directed at political actors and not general government public policy
