Did the ancient Romans have an equivalent term for "dude" "bro" or "man?"

"Comes" which translates as companion, or intimate friend. A possible translation might be "mate". For example, if emperor Nero were to go out on the town he would go with his Comites.

They sure had some words for this, but we don't know this because all we have about the latin language comes from some texts and they were mostly not written in "vulgar" language
