I'm not super interested in one that focuses just on the Nazis / concentration camps, since I feel like I've seen a hundred of those. I'm more interested in the forming of alliances, causes for war, specific battles and outcome.
I became interested after seeing this channel called The Great War which is supposedly going a 4 year long recap of WWI week by week, but I'm just more interested in learning about WWII. Maybe because it was more recent, or maybe because America was more involved.
Thanks!
You might enjoy The World at War. It's an older series, but covers a wide range of topics and theatres. Most, if not all, episodes should be available on YouTube.
[The War](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_(2007_TV_series) by Ken Burns is really good. I'm not sure where/if you can watch it for free, but you can buy it on Amazon here if you're interested enough.
Here are some that I have really enjoyed.
World At War is definitely one of the best for the amount of interviews with real people involved.
Battlefield is a good series that goes into great detail about each battle covered. Some episodes are on youtube.
Soviet Storm looks at the soviet campaign in detail. It's made by a Russian TV company partnered with a British firm. There are English narrated versions available on youtube.
The Wehrmacht is a series looking at the German army forces. Is on youtube. Also this episode about the Waffen SS and how they are different.
WW2 From Space gives an interesting geographic representation of the war.
Though not strictly WW2, I enjoyed Germany After the War.
Frank Capra's Why We Fight Series (7 parts) produced by the U.S. government during the war were very well made and offer a contemporary and 'official' perspective.
