What are the best works to get informed about the events of the French Revolution?

I'm most interested in the period going from the beginning of the revolution until the Coup of 18 Brumaire and the subsequent consulate of Napoleon.

While I haven't personally read it yet (It's on my list) I have heard from former professors that The Oxford History of The French Revolution by William Doyle is an excellent resource.
