Recently been fascinated with The Marquis De Lafayette. What are some great books on him that I could read? I see many books on Amazon...Looking for the best

As the title suggests. The Marquis De Lafayette has been popping up in a lot of podcasts I've been listening to as well as some other topics I read about: The French Revolution, etc. So Everything I hear about this guy I like. What are some good reads on him? I searched Amazon and there are a lot of books, looking for the historians suggestion on the best.

EDIT: Also figured this is a good time to ask why do they call him "The" Marquis De Lafayette instead of just Marquis? I think it's cool, just wondering.

I can't give a good book recommendation but I can answer your edit: A Marquis is a rank, so there has been many Marquis de Lafayette, but his birth name was Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de Lafayette. We call him "The Marquis" because he's the one that stands out the most from that rank throughout history.
