Apparently Jesus' actual name was Yeshua: who are some other historical figures who were called different names than the ones we use today?

This isn't a mistranslation nor a different name. It is simply how it changed as it passed through multiple scripts. Yeshua turned into Ἰησοῦς (Iesous, Greek). This turned into Iesus (Latin), and from there it should be clear.
