Today:

Welcome to this week's instalment of /r/AskHistorians' Sunday Digest (formerly the Day of Reflection). Nobody can read all the questions and answers that are posted here, so in this thread we invite you to share anything you'd like to highlight from the last week - an interesting discussion, an informative answer, an insightful question that was overlooked, or anything else.

I was very happy to get a response from /u/Shaw1935 to my question in Friday's Free-for-All about how the long-running violence and instability in Iraq has affected the study of the region's history. Since I'm not in any way involved in professional history or archaeology it brought up some points that I hadn't considered.

(If anyone else would like to add on to that answer or provide info on another region or topic that would be awesome too)
