Both my grandfather and my father were heavily involved with the Moose Lodge, my grandfather being with them for many decades prior to his death. My grandfather passed away about 20 years ago and I was really young when that happened but I have a memory of me grabbing this pin from his hat when the family was going through his belongings. Now I'm not sure if that's a real memory or not, I could have just fabricated it I mean I was really little. The reason why I'm worried about not remembering correctly is that my father was also heavily involved in the moose but at separate times than my grandfather was. It's more than reasonable to perhaps have gotten this pin mixed up as being my grandfathers when it's actually one of my fathers old pins.
I'm hoping to find some clarity on this whole thing. I've called up the LOOM international headquarters as well as left messages with the Eastern Michigan head of department (which is where we're from) but I have yet to be contacted back. Normally I would use my google-fu for this but there seems to be a severe lack of information about the Moose Lodge out there, especially their symbols and icons.
I want to give this to my father for his upcoming birthday if it fits the bill as being in the time period of when my grandfather was alive. I just want to be sure of its origin. And of course any history about the Moose you guys have would be cherished.
I know some Moose folks... I'll pass on the info!
