I'd look into his policies on eugenics and isolationist stance in global politics.

The obvious points would be his suppression of freedom of speech during World War I, his failure to get his 14 Points implemented (the only one that was adopted at Versailles was the League of Nations, which was neutered from the start because he failed to convince the US Congress to join), and his racism (including segregating the federal government).
