Just like the title says, I am interested in reading about the Sumerians. I didn't really find anything in the sidebar. Culture, and mythology. I figure you guys will know the most interesting books to check out?
Here are a couple of the most widely cited books on the Sumerians. I haven't read them myself, so I can't give you a personal opinion, but these are where I would start, given that they appear to be fairly foundational works in the scholarly community.
Kramer, Samuel N. The Sumerians: Their History, Culture, and Character. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1963. Older and dated, but one of the most widely cited works.
Crawford, Harriet E. W. Sumer and the Sumerians. Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press, 2004. More recent, but still very widely cited.
These should give you an overview of the evidence we have uncovered as well as what we have deduced from it.
