The Normandie-Niemen squadron was and remains a symbol of cooperation between Western powers and the Soviets, with its pilots and mechanics 's image turned into heroes and rewarded by France and the Soviets.

One other instance I'm aware of is that the Royal Air Force sent 151 Wing to Murmansk to support the Soviet forces there and to train them on the Hawker Hurricane fighters which were being supplied to the USSR. 151 wing comprised 81 Squadron and 134 squadron with a total of 40 Hurricanes.
The first transport arrived at Archangel, south of Murmansk, in early September 1941 and it took some time to assemble the initial batch of crated aircraft. More were flown off the deck of the aircraft carrier HMS Argus directly to the operational airfield at Vaenga.
The pilots did engage German aircraft with the first combat occurring on September 12th. In total the wing claimed 16 victories during it's time there for one combat fatality and two operational deaths. The last encounter with the Luftwaffe was on October 6th and by October 22nd 1941 all the aircraft had been handed over to the Soviets. The personnel were then returned to Britain at the end of November.
There is a book specifically about this : Hurricanes Over Murmansk by John Golley, which I've not read but I do have Hurricane by Leo McKinstry which has a small section about the operation.
