The Armenians have traditionally been a more mercantile people, and set up in many cities in Central and Eastern Europe (including Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia). The same can not be said of the Georgians, who were largely a rural people who didn't migrate far from the Georgian territory (except for Georgian monks who went to Jerusalem). The lack of a genocide to incentivize the Georgians out also contributed, but its more to do with them traditionally looking inwards, while Armenians have a history of setting up across that part of the world.
