I don't know if this is allowed in /r/AskHistorians, per sub rules:

No "in your era" or "throughout history" questions

One of our key principles regarding questions is that they should be as precise as possible; we do not want threads that will attract only bad answers, or are so generalised that they cannot be answered. We will therefore remove questions that are seeking trivia rather than informed answers.

Our guiding principle is that if a thread can be summarised as "tell me random stuff about X through history" then it falls into this category of trivia rather than looking for in-depth answers which is this community’s main focus.

Sorry, we don't allow throughout history questions. These tend to produce threads which are collections of trivia, not the in-depth discussions about a particular topic we're looking for. If you have a specific question about a historical event or period or person, please feel free to re-compose your question and submit it again. Alternatively, questions of this type can be directed to more appropriate subreddits, such as /r/history or /r/askhistory.
