I just bought this book at an auction yesterday on a whim and would really love to learn more about it. I think it might be titled Das Lied. I was told it was from the 1700s but that's about all I know. Any help anyone could give me to solve this mystery would be GREATLY appreciated.
Okay, so this is what I gather from some cursory research, you only posted a couple of pages, but I was able to discern at least some information about the book. Also, this is my first post on this sub, and while I do have a history degree, this isn't my field, I just happen to speak German so I hope my answer is up to snuff.
As you assume, the volume you have there seems to be an edition of the "Ausbund", an Anabaptist book of hymns from the mid-sixteenth century. More specifically this edition appears to have originated in the Swiss Mennonite/Anabaptist community, and is, according to this source likely an American reprint, since it contains an appendix detailing the persecution of Swiss Anabaptists in the 1600s. The appendix consists of two parts, one being the "Confessio" (confession) of Thomas von Imbroich, a Mennonite religious leader in the Rhineland area of Germany who was imprisoned and executed by the Inquisition in 1558. The other part of the appendix is titled "Ein wahrhaftiger Bericht von den Brüdern im Schweitzerland in dem Zürcher gebiet wegen der Trübsalen, welche über sie ergangen sind, um des Evangeliums willen, von dem 1635sten bis in das 1645ste Jahr" (roughly: "A truthful report from the Brothers in the Zurich area of Switzerland of the troubles which have befallen them for the sake of the gospel, between 1635 and 1645). This part also details the experiences of persecuted Anabaptists in Switzerland, and contains a number of individual accounts of the fate of a number of individuals (more info here.
The main part, the book of hymns, is apparently still used today by Mennonites, so the whole PA connection makes a lot of sense. I haven't been able to find an English version online, but I am sure there is one available somewhere. Hope this helps clear up the mystery a bit.

This book seems to be the story of a German-speaking religious minority that was persecuted in Switzerland, combined with religious songs. Could it be the Martyr's Mirror?
Edit: Das Lied means "the song". In the header of the pages containing songs, the songs number is given. For example ""Das 1 Lied" means "The 1st Song."
