What equipment did the Kuwaiti Army use prior to the Iraqi invasion in 1990?

Specifically, what was the:

  1. Standard service rifle?
  2. Uniform and camouflage pattern?
  3. Most used MBT?
  4. Most used APC?
  5. Standard headgear/helmet?

I cannot answer #1, 2, and 5, but here are answers for 3 & 4.

  1. The most common Kuwaiti MBT was the Chieftain MK 5/2 (165), followed by smaller numbers of Vickers MBT (70) and Centurion (40). The Kuwaitis also had a small number of M-84s (6) from Yugoslavia to replace the Chieftain. The primary armored reconnaissance vehicle was the Saladin (100) followed by the Ferret (90).

  2. The main APC of the Kuwaiti Land Forces was the M113 (200) and its only IFV was the BMP-2. The Egyptian Fahd (100) and the Sarcen (130) were also also present in the Kuwaiti order of battle.
