I hear things like "scared like the French" or "surrender like France". I've always thought France has been one of those countries that go to war at the drop of a hat. If it's WWII they are talking about, I think it's a little unfair. My understanding is that after WWI France was decimated and had no real chance joing Great Britain against Germany to begin with. So it's now wonder they were out of the war so soon.
