I was watching an episode of Poirot today when a desk lamp caught my eye! It looked incredibly familiar - like something that would have been used in lots of period dramas! After some googling, I realised that this was a 'banker desk lamp'!

I assume this was used in banks somehow? Is there any reason why it is green? When was it most popular? How did it become a 'standard'? I would love to know more about this item's history!
