Citing youtube video

by tenningosui

Greetings!

I am writing a paper about Mishima Yukio, a Japanese novelist who attempted a coup and committed seppuku.

I have found a very useful interview in English on youtube! But I am having difficulty figuring out how to correctly cite it as a source in Chicago style. I have looked up different ways online, but would like some input from more experienced people!

Here is what I have:

“Yukio Mishima....Rare 1969 Interview In English.” YouTube video, 4:02. Posted by “mishima1970,” November 22, 2006. https://youtu.be/IasOkulcDQk

Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

I have never used Chicago style citations, but I well versed in other forms of citations so I thought I would give this a whirl.

Judging by the Chicago online manual (http://libguides.csuchico.edu/content.php?pid=214757&sid=1836853) it appears that your citation is almost correct. You are missing a period at the end of the URL.

Looking over the video, there doesn't appear to be information on the "interviewer" available or included, so I would omit it and cite as you did.
