Look at /r documentaries

Sorry, havn't had time to answer during the week. For books I'd suggest having a look at our book list for ancient Rome and ancient Greece.

I'm actually a big fan of documentaries so I can dig up quite a few. You can't go wrong with any of the documentaries with Mary Beard that you can find on Youtube. She's among the very best when it comes to knowledge, but she's also very good at explaining things in an entertaining way.

I'm also a big fan of Bettany Hughes, who's done quite a few more light-weight documentaries on Rome, Greece and Egypt. Like Mary Beard she has a very entertaining way of presenting history, but in a slightly different way.

A third one that I found is Neil Oliver, who's an archaeologist who did a series about the Roman influence and occupation of Britain. Be a bit cautious if you watch this though, because while it gives a very interesting (in my opinion) view of this period from a different perspective, I noticed quite a few errors in the presented facts during the series.
