Where Can I Learn More About Maroon Communities?

by LuckyRevenant

Richard Dunn's Sugar and Slaves: The Rise of the Planeter Class in the English West Indies, 1624-1713 mentions maroon communities and how they interacted with Indies colonial activities throughout the book, and even has a reference to something referred to in the index as the "Maroon Wars". However, he does not really go into much detail about them. Thus, I was wondering if anyone knew of any other books I could look up to find out more about these communities.

Richard Price's Maroon Societies: Rebel Slave Communities in the Americas is the classic text and covers maroons all over the Caribbean and the Americas. It came out in the 70s but has seen subsequent editions. A good place to start looking at the different communities, the wars, etc.
