Is this seal from King Edward II different from his standard seal?

by DATY4944

This item was found in a house that was purchased, and the previous owner went to great lengths to get it back. He claims it is from a cathedral somewhere in Europe, but wouldn't go into any more detail than that. I had a friend look at it for me and he says this seal was used when King Edward II was in France in his absence. I would like to see if anyone here can clarify the identity of this seal, and confirm that is in fact as rare as my friend says. Is it true that there are no known recovered items like this in the world? If it is that rare, what would one suggest is the best thing to do with this item.
