The Rolling Stones band was formed in London in 1962. The Rolling Stone magazine was first published in San Francisco in 1967. Both long lasting institutions have had remarkably long lived leadership. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts have been in the band since 1962 and are still in the band, 53 years later. The magazine has still has its original editor, Jann Wenner and chief Music critic, Ralph Gleason, after forty-seven years.
