This may or may not answer your question, but it is what comes to me when I see the question.

Something "through a different lens" might be two versions of the same story with the same main character but a different interpretations--like "Ever After" and the animated "Cinderella".

Something "a different point of view" might be the same story with different focal characters, like the way Orson Scott Card wrote Ender's Game, and then told the same story from another character's point of view in another book. (Not film, but an example.)

I don't know if that helps--or even what other people might think, but that is how the question strikes me...
