I just realized that the landings at Inchon were basically the last amphibious landings that I can remember or have read about. What changed after Korea that made these landings unpopular? Was it simply the fact that no theater after Korea was suitable? Or was there a large change in tech and doctrine that discouraged naval invasions?
What kind of landings do you mean? The Falklands war began with Argentinian marines landing on the islands and eventually forcing the surrender of the marines. The eventual response by the British forces required them to make a naval landing under aerial attack. Apart from that I can't think of any large scale war that a landing was required as they are quite risky operations which require good weather and can easily cause huge casualties for the attackers
