I presume this is not a global occurence, but on the 5/7 continents that I travelled, people were filing, cutting or clipping their nails. Yet I can't imagine early homo sapiens sitting at the fire with some sort of pumice stone doing a manicure. When did humans start shortening their nails with purpose? Did this habit develop simultaneoulsly, or spread from one location? Thank you.
