Greetings everyone , I am working on a comic based on norse myths (mostly on volsunga saga) Any help, link, reference or idea is welcomed. -(1)Where did the Volsungs lived? (North, but where exactly) -(2)How could the appearance, of Volsungs and Gauts (Siggeir and his men) be? -(3)Do we know the names of the son's of Volsung beside Sigmund? -(4)I am looking for a way to name my characters properly , not just names that sound good but also be historically correct. You can't make a historical correct retelling of Völsung saga because the saga itself is ahistorical. For example the names have been changed to norse-sounding names even though they were originally central European. Eg. Atilla have become Atle and so on.
This means you have to decide yourself on the culture where you picture the events to happen, because there is large cultural difference between iron age central Europe and christian age Iceland. You could for example decide to make it happen in a fictionalized viking age culture and then take names and clothing and so on from that time.
