It's certainly accurate with regards to how T.E. Lawrence viewed the situations he wrote about, and is mostly accurate historically. After losing his original manuscript and service notes he rewrote almost the entire book from memory, which introduced uncertainty and some inaccuracies, but in general it's more accurate than is given credit for. Jeremy Wilson, the leading scholar on T.E. Lawrence, called it extremely accurate overall, but occasionally inaccurate in minor details.

it's a beautiful book. But to use it as a source in a modern history book and to pass it off as the a possible truth,you have to do some cross referencing. But i love it & Lawrence was quiet a character. Churchill wrote a very interesting portrait of T.E.L in his book "Great contemparies" well worth reading (pardon my english, its not my moder tounge....not even my fathers=)
