If homosapiens where indeed *homo* sapiens, then how did they reproduce ?

hi! as it happens, homo in each word has different meanings, derived from different roots.

  • in Homo sapiens, "homo" comes from the Latin homo=man, and in this context means man as in mankind or humanity. See etymonline

  • in homosexual, "homo" comes from the Greek homos=same. See etymonline
