They didn't, House Atreides was all but wiped out within month of their arrival on Arrakis.

It was only because of utterly incompetence Harkonnen-Imperial counter-insurgency strategy that led to the unification of the Fremen tribes under Maud'bib and the formation of the Mahdiphate.
