Ollanius Pius, a real man or some myth?

by Plintstorm

We all heard the tales of Saint Ollanius but was he really there? A mortal man? During the High Duel of The God Emperor and the Arc Traitor?

I've accessed the halls of imperial records of the Segmentum Solar to get verifiable imperial truth. Ollanius Pius, as an entity, did in fact exist in the thirty first millenium. To deny such knowledge would be heresy. However, the entity of Ollanius Pius was but a conglomerated name for two people. By word of mouth, their martyrdom was conglomerated into one person as it transitioned into the realm of legend. There were, rather, two men. Sargeant Ollanius Persson, a mere mortal guardsman serving his duty at the imperial palace, and Brother Sargeant Pius of the Imperial Fists. In an act of courage to demonstrate the true strength of mankind in the service of the Holy God-Emperor, Ollanius Pius did face the Warmaster Horus, promptly defeated in the sight of the Emperor. Inspired, Brother Sargeant Pius drove himself to honor Ollanius' sacrifice, but also died a the hands of Horus. Seeing these cruel acts helped remove doubt from the God-Emperor's mind to help bring righteous fury against his former favored son Horus. From that point on, it is history as Ollanius and Pius were revered for their sacrifice and remain a beacon of hope in the service of mankind. So, as you can see, there was more than one man, but the legend holds an air of truth. Have faith in the Emperor, and be rewarded.
