A writer of Doctor Who here, Doctor Who and Star Wars are in separate universes, although (spoiler) we are planning in the future that the doctor finds out how to travel to all different kinds of universes including the star wars one, to keep the show fresh and entertaining and fun for all!.

There is circumstantial evidence. For example, someone saved Captain Panaka, the captain of the Queen’s guard from an ambush, and apparently transported him to Earth in the 1930's in New York where he settled in a place called Hooverville.
