The Gizmonic Institute was a very shady organization involved in a number of unethical practices. They made and sold often useless inventions, illegally screened copyrighted movies, and unethically performed seemingly pointless, cruel, never-ending experiments on their lower-level employees and temp workers. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that they attempted to run an unsanctioned space program, but I would question whether they were capable of it. Like I said, the inventions they produced were largely useless, despite overinflated claims of their technological sophistication. How would their astronauts even eat and breathe? Bottom line, there's a lot of crazy rumors about GI, but you can't believe everything you hear.

Take the crazy claim that one of their employees was successfully experimenting in creating sentient A.I. to be his friends. Where would he get the special parts?
