The closest thing to concrete is the name correlation between the male main character of the book (Crantius Colto) and the authors name (Crassius Curio). The similarity of the names implies that Lifts-Her-Tail was a real person. Unfortunately, House Hallau destroyed all of Curio's personal records and drafts following his death. Historians have been trying to uncover the identity of Lifts-Her-Tail since the book became wildly popular in the end of the Third Era. Due to her lowly status, however, her name is not found on any records in Morrowind or Black Marsh.
